Mission

The Wharton Future of Finance Initiative studies the financial system and its support of the real economy, with particular attention to two forces that shape it: the stability that sustains it and the innovation that transforms it. The Initiative examines how financial systems generate both resilience and new forms of systemic risk, focusing on areas including:

  • Markets, Liquidity, and Financial Infrastructure
  • Financial Stability and Systemic Risk
  • Financial Innovation and Technology
  • The Future of Money and Central Banking

Through research, convenings, co-curricular student programming, and engagement with policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, and the broader financial community, the Initiative connects emerging scholarship to the practical challenges shaping the future of the global financial system.
